Acrylic sheets are made of a flexible waterproof plastic that. This same process must be used to seal the joins where the siding meets the wall. To install a bathtub start by installing a 2 by 4 inch ledger board to the length of the wall that the long edge of the tub will be against. After weighing down the tub by filling it with water apply anti fungal sealant along every edge in prevent any water ingress.

Then attach the drain to the new tub and connect the overflow drain. Then install the bathtub and anchor it to the wall studs as recommended by the manufacturer. If everything is in line these measurements should be the same. In a typical remodeling project using a direct to studs surround kit you first install a bathtub or shower base then finish the wall with the surround kit attaching them directly to the studs with no need for drywall or cement board as a backer if you don t already have exposed studs the panels can be used as a template to outline an area of wall where you will.

Then measure up from the top of the tub to the spout and the trim handle as well. Before installing cut holes in the shower wall for the shower trim handle and tub spout. An acrylic surround provides a decorative and easy to maintain surface for your shower.
